Theme Park Update 4/21/23

It’s been a bit of a light news week around here- the biggest news being that Disney started reselling their annual passes again this week. Wait times for the virtual queue were hours long and was a frustrating ordeal for many, but most people got to buy new passes or upgrade their Pixie Dust passes on Thursday. Read on for a few other big announcements and updates.

Disney announces dates and prices for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

Disney is doing something they call Halfway to Halloween, where they usually announce their plans for the spooky season. This week, they announced that the MNSSHP will go longer than ever before. It’ll be starting mid-August and go through the first of November, and prices will range from $109 to $199 (for adults). It usually sells out, so be sure to contact me to snag your tickets if you plan to attend.

Guests of select Walt Disney World Resort hotels can begin purchasing Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party tickets as early as April 27, 2023, while all other Guests may purchase tickets starting on May 2, 2023. Annual pass holders also receive a $10 off-per-ticket discount.

Universal Studios raises their annual pass pricing

Thursday morning, Universal Orlando raised the prices for their 2 top tier passes by a pretty significant amount. The Florida Resident 2 park Preferred Pass was formerly $439.99 and went up to $529.99, while the Premier Pass was 639.99 and is now $789.99. The 3 park passes had less of a jump; I’m having trouble finding the previous pricing on the Preferred Pass (which is now $639.99), but the Premier only jumped from $944.99 to $979.99. These are Florida resident prices- out-of-state annual passes also rose in similar proportions, but have higher price points. You can see their new pricing on the Universal website.
