Make Your Own Custom Disney Tees

Are you looking to make custom Disney shirts for your upcoming Disney trip? You're in luck! In this blog post, I'll walk you through the step-by-step process of creating your Disney shirts.

Gather Your Supplies

  • Freezer paper. Freezer paper is an excellent choice because of its wax backing, which allows you to temporarily iron on your stencil while you spray the shirt, creating crisp outlines.

  • Bleach

  • Spray Bottle

  • T-shirt.

  • Silhouette. You can freehand one or print something off the internet.

Choose A Design

Once you have your supplies, the first step is to choose a design for your shirt. Remember that you'll be freehand cutting your design if you don't have a fancy machine. For a simple yet classic design, consider starting with some Mickey ears. You can find a printable template online and trace it onto your freezer paper using a Sharpie.

Iron On Your Design

Next, you'll need to iron your stencil onto your t-shirt. For a great selection of blank t-shirts, check out Amazon, where you can find 5-packs in various colors. For this project, we used a red shirt for a pop of color.

Spray Bleach

Next, mix bleach with water in equal parts and get ready to start spraying or dripping onto your shirt. There's no right or wrong way to do this, so have fun experimenting with different techniques!

Let It Dry

Once you've sprayed or dripped the bleach mixture onto your t-shirt, it's essential to let it dry completely. As you can see in the photo, the drying process creates a unique and eye-catching effect. However, not all shirt colors will work well with this technique. Using a simple cotton tee is your best bet for achieving the desired look. For example, when we tried using a grey shirt from Target, the bleach also didn't work due to the shirt's faded coloring. We also tried a deep olive green shirt but had similar results. So, stick with a solid cotton tee for the best results.

Congratulations! You've now learned how to create your own custom Disney t-shirts. With just a few supplies and some creativity, you can make unique and perfect shirts for your next Disney adventure. Remember to experiment with different designs and techniques to make your shirts memorable. We hope you enjoy making your own Disney t-shirts and wearing them on your next trip to the happiest place on earth!
