Your First Visit to Disney World

First Time?

You’ve got one day at each park, and really want to make it count. You don’t want to miss out on anything really cool, but your head hurts every time you start digging through all there is to do. My friend Sarah was having the same issue, so I made her this guide to help out.

There are four main parks that make up Disney World. Below is a guide to each park and the attractions they are most known for, with just enough tips and fun facts to make you feel like an insider.

Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom is the “classic” park, the one with the castle. It’s generally what everyone thinks of when they think of going to Disney World. It’s split into smaller themed lands that go in approximately a circle around the main castle area.

Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom is home to Africa, Asia, and…DinoLand and Pandora, the world from Avatar. I know it’s weird, but it’s also a tie with Epcot for my favorite park. It’s more of a zoo/theme park combo, where you can go on safaris, ride roller coasters, and watch an impressive Lion King-themed acrobatic show. It’s also the park with the most breathtaking views.

EPCOT

Epcot is usually thought of as the more “grown-up” park. It’s set up in two different main sections. The front part of the park has a very futuristic feel and is undergoing lots of changes. The back half features a walk around the world. You can walk around the large lagoon and experience food and culture from lots of different countries. Epcot is famous for its festivals, so be sure to check if any are happening during your visit.

Hollywood Studios

For years, Hollywood Studios felt like the park you could skip if you needed to skip one. In recent years, they’ve upped their game with Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge. Now, it might be one of the busiest. This is a MUST-SEE if you’re a Star Wars fan. It also has a lot of really cool themed restaurants and the famous Tower of Terror ride.
