Seaworld Introduces Cashless System

Seaworld And Aquatica To Go Cashless

Beginning August 30, 2023, Seaworld has announced that they are moving to a cashless system in both their theme park and at Aquatica. This change will not affect those who use credit or debit cards, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. For those who prefer using cash, Seaworld has installed Cash-to-Card kiosks throughout the park. These kiosks allow you to exchange your cash for a prepaid Visa card that can be used not only at Seaworld but also anywhere Visa is accepted.

If you don’t want to use a credit or debit card

Personally, I think this is a great move. Most people nowadays use some form of card payment, so it won't be a huge inconvenience. However, for those who prefer cash, Seaworld's solution is quite generous. Rather than providing only gift cards, they are converting cash into a card that can be used nearly everywhere. What's more, they are doing so without any transaction fees. The only caveat is that if you don't use the card for 92 consecutive days, there will be a charge of $3.95 per month. This seems like an easy fee to avoid.

There is no minimum amount required to add to the card, but the limit is $500 per card. However, you can purchase multiple cards if you need to spend more than $500. Author’s note: If you’re spending more than $500 a day at Seaworld, please feel free to invite me along with you.

The cards are not reloadable, but you can get a new one free of charge at any time. Checking your balance is easy- you can use the kiosk or look it up online.

In conclusion, Seaworld's decision to transition to a cashless system seems like a smart move. Seaworld's Cash-to-Card kiosks are a convenient and practical solution for visitors who prefer to use cash, and the card-only system should make transactions smoother for everyone.
