Cash's Favorite Things at Disney World

Cash has been visiting theme parks since he was five years old. During his eight years of park hopping, he’s tried almost everything. He’s an adventurous eater and braver at rides as he’s older. As we visit the parks with friends and their kids of varying ages, I've noticed that no person is alike. Some people will do great on Millenium Falcon but get nauseous on Slinky Dog. Others will love the thrills of Space Mountain but get creeped out at Haunted Mansion. So, while I’d like to recognize that every kid and every adult are different, I love to include Cash’s opinions on Disney from a kid's and now a teen’s perspective. Without further ado, here are some of Cash’s favorite things at each Disney park.

What is Cash’s favorite Disney park?

While we both love all of the parks, Magic Kingdom and EPCOT are tied for Cash’s favorite. Magic Kingdom has more rides, so wait times tend to be shorter. Space Mountain is one of his favorites, but even if the line is long there, chances are we can hop easily onto Pirates of the Caribbean. And because there are so many good rides, we can often catch some of his favorites in that sweet under-30-minute time slot.

He loves EPCOT for a few reasons. While they also have Test Track and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (his #1 favorite ride in all the parks), he also loves wandering around and exploring, particularly during the festivals. We always do scavenger hunts, try lots of new foods (even on non-festival days, it seems there’s always something new), and attend concerts. We both love the cookie walk and the Candlelight Processional at Christmas, the activities during the Festival of the Arts, the amazing topiaries at the Flower and Garden Festival, and the fantastic eats at Food and Wine.

Cash’s Favorite Things at Magic Kingdom

Mindy and Cash smile as they ride light cycles on TRON

TRON is Magic Kingdom’s newest (and fastest) ride

As I mentioned above, MK is one of Cash’s favorite parks.

Favorite Magic Kingdom rides

Cash’s first favorite ride at MK was Big Thunder Mountain, and we’ll still happily ride it anytime the wait times are reasonable. It’s a speedy coaster that doesn’t have too many big drops and has zero inversions. The ride experience is vastly different from the front seat to the back seat, so if you have a nervous rider, we recommend starting at the front and working your way to the back- they take requests, especially when it’s not super busy.

Cash’s favorite ride at MK these days is Space Mountain. It’s speedy, it’s in the dark, and it doesn’t have any giant drops. His absolute favorite was riding this at Christmas, with a special light show and music overlay. He also really loves TRON.

Favorite Magic Kingdom Snacks

There are so many great snacks at Magic Kingdom- the most obvious being the Dole Whip at Aloha Isle- which Cash loves—however, his absolute favorite snack is the egg rolls from the stand right outside Adventureland. There are usually two kinds- the cheeseburger one is his favorite.

Another big winner is a double-scoop ice cream cone from the Main Street Ice Cream Parlor. We love to get a double scoop, sit in the chairs with umbrellas right outside, and watch as parades go by or the fireworks go off. It’s also a great place to people watch.

Favorite Things to do at Magic Kingdom

We mainly focus on the rides here because there are so many. He enjoyed the Pirate scavenger hunt in Adventureland. He sorely misses the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom. I still LOVE the parades and fireworks, but he could happily skip them since he’s seen them so many times.

Cash’s Favorite Things at EPCOT

This park is tied with Magic Kingdom as his favorite; we visit it OFTEN.

Favorite Epcot rides

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is Cash’s favorite ride at ANY Orlando theme park. He also really loves Test Track.

Favorite EPCOT SNACKS

This is a tough one because the food changes from festival to festival. He loves the Conga, a nonalcoholic drink at Choza de Margarita- the margarita stand in Mexico. He’ll eat almost anything at Karamell-Küche- the caramel store in Germany. The Loaded Burnt Ends Fries at Regal Eagle Smokehouse in the America pavilion are another huge winner.

Favorite things to do at Epcot

Previously, we’ve always loved the Remy’s Scavenger hunts. This year, it seemed like they reused a lot of locations, which was disappointing. They did add a new pumpkin hunt, though. We have it on our to-do list to try the Ducktales scavenger hunt. It’s a long walk around the world- it helps, especially when he was younger, to have something to keep you moving without getting too tired.

He also loves tasting the colas from around the world and shopping at Mitsukoshi in Japan.

Cash’s Favorite Things at Animal Kingdom

Cash has a silly look on his face as he holds up a Simba popcorn bucket the same way they hold baby Simba in the movie The Lion King

Favorite Animal Kingdom Rides

Flight of Passage in Pandora is an obvious favorite here, though he really enjoys Dinosaur.

Favorite Animal Kingdom Snacks

I will start by saying that we need to up our game here because I’ve heard so many reports of this being the BEST park for snacks- sadly, we haven’t tried many of them. He has enjoyed anything he’s eaten from Flame Tree BBQ and loves a good Mickey ice cream bar.

Favorite Things to do at Animal Kingdom

There are a lot of things to wander around and see in AK. We both surprisingly enjoyed the Bug’s Life show. I say surprisingly because we both expected it to be aimed more at little kids, like most Disney shows, but it was very entertaining and had a few fun surprises. The Lion King show is always pretty spectacular as well.

Cash’s Favorite Things at Hollywood Studios

This is Cash’s exact face in every ride photo we have at Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster

Hollywood Studios is Cash’s least favorite park, but that’s more because there isn’t a lot of filler. It has amazing rides but not as much in-between stuff to do, especially if you’re not a Star Wars fan.

Favorite Hollywood studio Rides

Millenium Falcon is his favorite ride if you’re with a group- he said it’s a little less fun if it’s just the two of us because you’re put in a ship with other people. Talking trash (or working as a team) with friends is much more fun. Even though we aren’t big into Star Wars, Rise of the Resistance is incredible. He also really loves Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster- though it’s pretty intense.

Favorite Hollywood Studio Snacks

He loves the gelato from the stand in the Muppets courtyard, outside Muppets 3D.

Favorite Things to do at Hollywood Studios

In our downtime between rides, Cash enjoys the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular show.

Conclusion

I hope you have enjoyed reading about Cash's favorite things at each park. It has been exciting to see his list grow and change as he has grown older and more adventurous. Everyone has different preferences when it comes to the parks, but it's always nice to have a starting point. I hope this blog serves as that for you!
